Equestrian Activities
Come host your next clinic, horse show, or event at the Airfield 4-H Center equestrian area. Our facility is conveniently located between the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas and offers a peaceful and shady setting. In addition to our show facilities, we also have a concession stand with a pavilion and picnic tables as well as restrooms that are convenient to the barn area.
Western Dressage Series
Open to all breeds
Divisions:
- Open
- Amateur
- Junior (must wear a helmet)
- Year-end awards for trotting and gaited

Facilities
We have 100 permanent stalls, most 12x12 with bucket hooks installed, wash racks near both barns and plenty of trailer parking. We also have shavings available to purchase during your events. Hotel rooms and camp sites are available on-site.
Bain Arena
150' x 300', lit-arena with sand footing. It has a judge's stand and a climate-controlled announcer's stand with a PA system. There is a full course of hunter jumps that can be rented for an additional fee with poles, coops, walls, and gates.
Cargill Arena
150' x 300', non-lit arena with sand footing with open-air judge's and announcer's stand and PA system.
NEW Warm-Up Arena
The 3rd Arena is brand new and is mainly used for warm-ups! Bluestone or rock dust footing.
Scenic Trails
If you are looking for scenic trails to ride, we have those as well. We look forward to seeing you at Airfield!
