Military Teen Adventure Camp: June 9-13, 2025; Cost: $40, Ages: 13-18
This is a residential camp for teens (ages 13-18) ready to embrace the outdoors and the adventures it provides. This Military Teen Adventure Camp is a great way for teens to experience education and recreation outdoors. While participating in structured activities with their peers, campers will learn life skills while enjoying adventurous activities such as canoeing, kayaking, shooting education (rifle, archery, shotgun), challenge course, high ropes course, pond ecology/fishing, beekeeping, advanced outdoor living skills, and swimming. At the conclusion of the camp, campers will enjoy a canoeing and outdoor living skills overnight camping trip. On this camping trip, the campers will put their canoeing and wilderness survival skills to the test. While supervised, campers will canoe a significant distance, set up the campsite, fish, practice wilderness cooking, and clean up following “leave no trace behind” principles. Depending on the size and species of fish we catch, we might be having fish for dinner! If fish is not your favorite dinner option while camping, alternative options will be provided. We will take full advantage of the natural beauty of the Airfield Mill Pond and its surrounding environment. The Military Teen Adventure Camp will provide the perfect environment for campers to build lasting friendships and life skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.

About Airfield 4-H Center
Located on the banks of beautiful Airfield Lake in Sussex County, near Wakefield, Virginia, the secluded 218-acre natural setting is only a short drive from Richmond, Williamsburg, and Tidewater, Virginia, where you can "get away" without having to "go away".
The center is located near Wakefield, Virginia, on Airfield Lake. The lake is 105 acres in size and the Center property has more than one mile of shoreland. When the roads were widened and surfaced at the 4-H Center, Union Camp Corporation donated an additional seven acres of land, bringing the present number of acres to 218.
