Our 218 acres of pine woods forest and 100 acres of freshwater lakefront property have something for everyone. It's peaceful, active, tranquil and beautiful; the natural place to be.

Just a short drive from Richmond, Williamsburg, and Hampton Roads, the Airfield 4-H Center will allow you to “get away” without having to “go away”.

Summer & Specialty Camps

The Airfield 4-H Center (formally known as Southeast 4-H Educational Center) hosts safe and fun summer camps and specialty camps throughout the year. Airfield offers superb options for youth to enjoy the peace and fresh air in our nurturing environment. They will explore new ideas, challenge personal abilities, and foster new skills while remaining true to the core set of values and principles set forth by 4-H.

Rentals & Retreats

Conference Center

The Airfield 4-H Conference Center is open for business! Bring your business meetings, reunions, retreats, and weddings to Wakefield, Virginia. We provide large, spacious, and safe conference rooms to meet your needs. Airfield follows AHLA safety standards as well as Virginia mandates for safety.

Field Trips

The Airfield 4-H Center is here to provide programs to students and children of all ages. If your school or educational group is interested in planning a field trip, contact our Program Director today and we can make sure you have the proper accommodations.

About Airfield 4-H

4-H is the youth development education program of Virginia Cooperative Extension. 4-H is rich with learning experiences where young people partner with caring adults and volunteers in a fellowship unlike any other program available to youth today.

Through 4-H, young people are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities that emphasize 4-H's "learn by doing" philosophy of educational development.
